Lexus LS reduced engine power
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Lexus LS hybrid experienced reduced engine power, and a diagnostic revealed an error code. The issue was traced back to a faulty chip tuning job by a previous owner, which interfered with the engine management system. The solution involved taking the car to a workshop to re-flash the ECU to its original settings, resolving the problem and restoring normal engine performance.

Tuned? Actually, yeah, the previous owner mentioned something about chip tuning... Why do you ask?

Well, in my case, the error stored in the memory, along with the reduced engine power, pointed towards a faulty chip tuning job. Apparently, it can mess with the engine management system. I'd highly recommend getting it checked out by a trusted workshop; they should be able to diagnose the issue and potentially re-flash the ECU to the original settings. That might be the source of your woes.

Thanks so much for the insight! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out the chip tuning was indeed the culprit. They reflashed the ECU, and it's running smoothly now. Cost me 180€, but definitely worth it. Appreciate the help!

Interesting. I have an LS too, and something like that happened to me a while back. Was the car ever chipped or tuned by a third-party provider at any point?
