Lexus LX 2010 Experiences Persistent Low Tire Pressure Alert Despite Fine Tires: Seeking Advice for Tire Pressure Monitoring System Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Lexus LX is experiencing a persistent low tire pressure alert despite the tires being in good condition, suggesting a possible issue with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). A similar case was resolved by replacing defective TPMS antennas, which corrected inaccurate tire pressure readings. The recommended solution is to consult a reliable mechanic to check and potentially replace the TPMS antennas to resolve the issue.

Hey there, appreciate you for sharing your experience! Good to know I'm not alone in this mess. I'm curious though - do you remember how much that whole TPMS antennas switch-up set you back, by chance? And has anything else popped up related to this since it was fixed? Thanks again!

Hey again! Yeah, I remember quite well that the whole TPMS antennas swap cost me about 255€ at my nearby garage. Not exactly a small amount, but considering it took care of that annoying low tire pressure warning, it was definitely worth every penny to me. Since getting that fixed, it's been smooth sailing with my Lexus - haven't had a hint of the same issue. The tire pressure readings have been accurate and the alerts are back to normal, fingers crossed it stays that way! Just make sure to head to a reliable mechanic. Good luck!

Ah, the relief to finally grasp what might be causing the chaos! Thanks for letting me know about the cost; it's surely a chunk of change but completely getting rid of that persistent blinking warning will be such a joy. I'm hopeful it's just the TPMS antennas, like in your case. Your sharing definitely helps me negate any undue panic. Will be following your advice and heading to a trustworthy mechanic real soon. Thanks and may the issues with your Lexus stay at bay!

Hey! I definitely understand your predicament. I've got a 2007 GX Lexus and experienced a similar situation not so long ago. My tire pressure monitor was constantly showing an alert even though my tires were in perfect shape. It got me scratching my head, just like you. Took it into my local garage and turns out, it wasn't the tires at all but the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) antennas that were defective. But before they came to this conclusion, theyually checked the pressure of each tire individually, cross-checked it with the TPMS readings, and it was visibly clear, there was a definite discrepancy. Yours might be a similar case, where it's not really the tires but the TPMS antennas. Not so serious but can be a bit annoying, seeing that low tire pressure alert blinking at you. Anyway, once they replaced the antennas in mine, bingo! Problem solved, no more faulty tire pressure readings. So, I'd say take it to a trusted mechanic, could just be an antenna issue. Cheers!
