Lexus LX Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Lexus LX experienced a complete audio system failure, with no sound output despite functional controls and Bluetooth connectivity. Initial suspicion was on the bass speaker, especially after prior sound distortion at high volumes. The issue was confirmed to be a damaged bass speaker and amplifier, requiring professional repair.

Before it died, there was some noticeable sound distortion at higher volumes, particularly with bass-heavy music. I didn't pay much attention then. Bluetooth connects fine, but still no sound. All audio system functions seem to work – I can change stations, select different inputs – just no audio.

Okay, the distortion before complete failure points to a speaker issue, possibly the bass speaker as you suspected. Given the complete lack of audio output even with Bluetooth connected, it might be more than just one speaker, or the amp. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis, before trying to troubleshoot on your own.

Thanks for the insights. I took it to a local shop, and you were right – it was indeed the bass speaker, and the amplifier was damaged as well. Repair cost was 280€.

I have an LX and experienced something similar. Did you notice any sound distortion or volume control issues before it completely cut out? Is Bluetooth connectivity affected, or is the entire sound system unresponsive?
