Thanks! You mentioned a defective cable or plug connection. Where exactly should I be looking for that, and is it something I could fix myself without special tools?

On my Volvo, the connection to the boost pressure sensor was loose. However, accessing it required removing a few other components, and the space was tight. Given the potential for misdiagnosis and the need for specialized tools, I would recommend taking your Lexus to a trusted workshop. It might save you time and further expenses in the long run.

Thanks a lot for the insight! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was the boost pressure sensor cable – cost me 95€ to get it sorted. The check engine light is off, and it’s running smoothly again.

That sounds similar to an issue I had with my old Volvo V70. Those symptoms – check engine light, jerking, hissing – point to a problem with your boost pressure sensor. It could be a faulty sensor, or more likely a defective cable or plug connection. You should check the intake manifold, but it might be difficult for you to diagnose the specific root cause.
