Lexus LX Brake Light Errors

I had something similar happen on my LX. Check the fuses first. It might sound dumb, but a blown fuse can cause all sorts of weirdness with the electronics in these things.

Where's the fuse box located, and which fuse am I looking for? I'm not the greatest with electrical stuff.

Okay, fuse box is usually under the dash on the driver's side. There should be a diagram showing the brake light fuse. Honestly, though, I'd just take it to a workshop. Electrical gremlins can be a real pain.

Wow, you called it! Turns out the trailer hitch wiring harness was causing a short and kept blowing the fuse. Unplugged the harness, replaced the fuse. Works perfectly now! Thanks a million!
