Thanks for the quick reply! I hadn't thought about the brake lights. Where exactly is the pedal switch located, and is it easy to check? I am not sure what you mean by checking the throttle position.

The pedal switch is usually located near the brake pedal assembly; you should be able to locate it easily. As for checking the throttle position, that requires diagnostic equipment to read the signals from the throttle position sensor. Considering your symptoms and the potential defect of a cable or plug connection, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop for proper diagnosis. This sounds like the same issue I had.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the shop, and you were right; it was a defective cable or plug connection. They fixed it for 95€. Appreciate the help!

I had a similar problem with my 2017 Volvo XC90. The cruise control just quit, and there were no obvious warning lights. Have you checked the throttle position and the pedal switch? On my Volvo, the error memory showed a defective pedal switch. Also, have you checked if your brake lights are working correctly? Sometimes a faulty brake light switch can disable the cruise control system.
