Lexus LX Engine Stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Lexus LX diesel with 148,000 km is experiencing engine stalling, a check engine light, smoke during acceleration, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause is an issue with the mass air flow (MAF) sensor, also known as the LMM, which affects the air-fuel ratio and engine performance. Replacing the faulty MAF sensor resolved the issues, restoring normal fuel consumption and engine performance.

A performance decline, yes! Now that you mention it, the power hasn't been quite right for a while. So, you're thinking it's definitely the LMM? What happened with yours exactly?

Yep, sounds like the LMM/MAF sensor. The symptoms match. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. If it’s that sensor, replacing it should sort it out.

It was indeed the LMM sensor. I had it replaced and cost me 365€. Fuel consumption is back to normal, no more smoke, and the engine runs smoothly again! Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my LX. Is it running rough, like a real drop in power? Check the mass air flow (MAF) sensor, also called LMM. It messes with the air-fuel ratio. Did you notice any performance decline before the light came on?
