Lexus LX Intake Manifold Leak

I've got a 2011 Lexus LX diesel with jerking during acceleration, check engine light, power loss, stalling, rough running, and a strong exhaust smell. Could a scorched intake manifold leak be the problem? Anyone seen this?

Whoa, those symptoms sound super familiar! I've got an LX too, though a bit newer I think, and I went through something almost exactly the same last year. Jerking, power loss, that awful smell... Wow, what a headache! Was the error code related to manifold pressure or something similar?

The error code indicates an issue with manifold pressure. Could you elaborate on your experience? What was the diagnosis and resolution? I'm trying to gauge the potential severity and costs.

Okay, manifold pressure code seals it. For me, it was definitely the intake manifold. The gasket was leaking like crazy. Honestly, don't mess around with it too much yourself. Take it to a good workshop; they can do a smoke test to confirm the leak and give you a proper diagnosis. I ended up paying around 1200€ for the parts and labor.

Thanks for sharing. Based on your advice and the symptoms, I've scheduled an inspection. The workshop confirmed the intake manifold was defective due to scorching and quoted 1180€ for the repairs. I appreciate your assistance in guiding me towards a swift and informed resolution.
