Lexus LX key fob battery issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Lexus LX owner experienced a 'key battery low' warning, leading to erratic keyless access and locking behavior. The issue was suspected to be due to low battery voltage in the key fobs. After confirming the problem with a spare key, the solution was to replace the batteries in both key fobs, which resolved the issue.

Good thought. I did try the spare, and it's exhibiting the same behavior. That pretty much confirms it's a low battery voltage in both auto keys, right?

Yeah, sounds like the batteries in both fobs are dead. I would swing by the workshop. They'll be able to swap them out and make sure everything is still synced up correctly.

Thanks for the advice. Popped in a new battery in each key and now everything works as it should. Total cost was 37€ for the batteries, pretty happy with that.

I have a similar Lexus LX, though I'm not sure of the year. I had a similar issue crop up a while back. Did you try the spare key to rule out some kind of RF interference or a deeper electrical problem in the car itself?
