Lexus LX Overheating

I own a 2001 Lexus LX with a gasoline engine. Recently, I've noticed the engine overheating. Upon inspection, the electric fan seems impaired. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced this?

I have a Lexus LX too, though I don't know the exact year. I had similar overheating issues last year. I remember the fan motor acting up. Have you checked the fan clutch, as well?

I haven't looked at the fan clutch yet. Could that really cause the electric fan to fail completely?

It's possible. When mine went, it affected the whole cooling system and the fan wasn't spinning right. I'd suggest having it checked by a workshop. Turned out to be an electrical issue with mine anyway.

Thank you for the insight. I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed a defective plug connection, as suspected. Repair cost was 95€. The engine is running smoothly now.
