Lexus NX AC failure
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Lexus NX hybrid experienced an air conditioning failure, indicated by a system error and warning light, with the AC not activating or cooling. Possible causes discussed included electrical issues such as a faulty fuse or relay, but the problem was ultimately traced to a defective AC control unit. Replacing the control unit resolved the issue, restoring the AC functionality.

Thanks for your reply! No strange noises, and I'm not sure how to check the clutch, to be honest. I'm thinking it could be electrical, maybe a fuse or relay? Could you say if that's plausible?

Right, so it's silent, huh? Fuses and relays are like the circuit breakers in your house – definitely worth a look, but usually that's not the culprit for something as complex as AC. Based on those AC system symptoms , it does sound like the AC control unit might be toast though which is annoying because it is like the brain of the whole system. Definitely time to visit a workshop!

Thanks for your help! Turns out the AC control unit was indeed defective; had to replace it. Cost me 980€, but at least I have AC again.

That sounds like a real pain, especially with summer coming up! Is it making any weird noises when you turn the AC on, like a struggling motor or anything? Sort of like when your fridge is on the blink? Or maybe check if the AC compressor clutch is engaging - you can usually see it spinning when the AC is on. If it's not, that's a clue!
