That's a good analogy! I'm not sure about the exact temperature reading, I just know what the error code said. Is it easy to check the sensor itself, or is that a job for a professional?

Honestly, messing with sensors can be tricky. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty sensor. If you're not comfortable with car diagnostics, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic. It cost me around 155€ to get it sorted, but at least the car runs smoothly now. Don't want to play doctor when you are not one.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'll take it to the shop. At least now I have an idea of what to expect. Hopefully, it's just the sensor and nothing more serious.

Hmm, that sounds familiar. I have a Lexus NX too, though not sure what year, but I had similar symptoms a while back: reduced power and a check engine light. Is the temperature reading off? Like, is it reading -40 degrees when it's clearly summer? Think of it like your car thinking it's in Antarctica when it's actually in the Bahamas.
