Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the timing belt yet. So, a faulty cam sensor could cause a 'Crankshaft to Camshaft Reference Value' error even if the crankshaft sensor is the culprit? Is it like blaming the guitar for the drummer's mistake?

Potentially. It’s all interconnected. The sensors work together, so if one is off, it can throw the others out of whack. In my case, it was indeed the cam sensor. Though it's hard to say for sure without a proper diagnosis, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can pinpoint the problem.

You were right! Took it to the shop, and it was indeed a faulty crankshaft sensor. Cost me 340€ to get it fixed. Thanks for the advice!

That sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Volvo V70. Check Engine light, felt like I was towing a boat, the whole shebang. In my case, it ended up being a faulty cam sensor, which messed with the engine timing, like a drummer falling out of sync with the band. Have you looked into the timing belt?
