Lexus NX Jerking Acceleration
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Lexus NX hybrid was experiencing jerking acceleration, a check engine light, whistling and hissing noises, engine stalling at idle, increased fuel consumption, and reduced engine power. The suspected cause was a bad boost pressure sensor, potentially due to a defective cable or plug connection. After inspection, it was confirmed that the issue was indeed a defective cable in the boost pressure sensor, which was repaired, resolving the problem.

Boost leaks in the air intake? Is that easy to check myself, or does it require special tools?

Well, on my Astra, some hoses had come loose. You can visually inspect them, but honestly, if you're not sure, I'd take it to a workshop. Could be a bad boost sensor too, of course. Best get it checked out properly before it gets worse!

Thank you for the advice. It was indeed the boost pressure sensor; the cable was defective. Repair cost was 95€. Resolved now.

That sounds rough! I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra after some mileage. Check engine light, jerking, hissing – it was the turbo system. Have you checked for any obvious boost leaks in the air intake? Just a thought.
