Lexus NX MAF Sensor Symptoms
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Lexus NX hybrid is experiencing higher fuel consumption, engine stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration, suggesting a potential mass air flow (MAF) sensor issue. A dirty air filter could contribute to these symptoms by affecting the MAF sensor's performance. While checking and replacing the air filter is a recommended first step, the problem may persist, indicating a need for MAF sensor replacement. A workshop visit is advised to confirm and resolve the issue.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check the air filter. Did changing your air filter fix the issue completely, or did you have to do something else with the MAF sensor? I am not sure if the filter is the root cause.

For me, changing the air filter didn't completely solve it. The symptoms lessened a bit, but the problem persisted. I ended up taking it to a workshop, and they confirmed it was indeed the MAF sensor. Cost me around 365€ to get it replaced. So, while checking the filter is a good start, you might still have a faulty sensor.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order. Hopefully, a new MAF sensor will solve the problem. Thanks again!

Hey! I drive a Lexus NX too. I had similar symptoms a while back: engine stalling and the check engine light kept popping up. Have you checked your air filter recently? A dirty filter can sometimes mess with the MAF sensor and cause performance decline.
