Lexus NX NOx Catalyst Aging
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Lexus NX hybrid displayed a check engine light and an error related to NOx storage catalyst aging, with an exhaust leak also noted. The likely cause was identified as a leak in the exhaust system, which can affect the catalytic converter's performance. The suggested solution was to have the vehicle checked at a workshop. The workshop confirmed the exhaust leak and replaced the NOx storage catalyst, resolving the issue.

Just the light and exhaust. No strange smells. You think it's the catalytic converter even with the exhaust leak? Should I be worried about NOx emissions?

With the exhaust leak, it's almost certainly affecting the catalytic converter's performance. Think of it like a punctured tire - it still works, but not as well! I would strongly advise getting it checked at a workshop ASAP to confirm.

Thanks! Workshop confirmed exhaust leak, replaced the NOx storage catalyst. Repair cost 265€. All good now.

I also own a Lexus NX, although I'm not sure about the year. This sounds like the catalytic converter issue I faced! It's like a ticking time bomb that reduces fuel efficiency. Did you notice any strange smells, or is it just the light and exhaust?
