Lexus NX steering vibration
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Lexus NX hybrid was experiencing steering wheel vibration, spongy handling, and power steering errors, making it difficult to steer. The issue was suspected to be related to cable and plug connections of the power steering system. Upon inspection, a loose cable connection was identified and resolved by cleaning and properly reconnecting it, which restored normal steering function.

Cable and plug connections? Where should I be looking, and what am I looking for? Can I check it myself without needing special tools or expertise?

On my Volvo, the connections were near the steering column. However, it is difficult to assess it without training. Considering the error messages and the severity of the symptoms, I'd recommend visiting a workshop. A faulty connection might be the cause, but professional assessment is essential.

You were spot on! It turned out to be a loose cable connection to the power steering. They cleaned it, reconnected it properly, and cleared the error codes. Steering is back to normal! Total cost: 95€. Thanks for the tip; you saved me a fortune!

I understand your frustration. A similar issue occurred with my previous Volvo XC60. Did you check the cable and plug connections of the power steering?
