Thank you for the suggestion. The undervoltage explanation is insightful. How did you determine that undervoltage was the root cause, and could you elaborate on the diagnostic steps you undertook to pinpoint the issue? Did you encounter any other symptoms concurrently with the transmission anomalies?

Honestly, I didn't figure it out myself. I took it to a shop. They ran a bunch of diagnostics and found the voltage issue. They mentioned something about it causing the transmission to get false signals. Best bet is probably to get it scanned by someone who knows these cars. Could save you a lot of headache.

Following your recommendation, I took my Lexus to a trusted workshop. After conducting thorough diagnostics, they confirmed an undervoltage situation was indeed the culprit, leading to the transmission malfunctions. The total repair cost amounted to 240€, encompassing both diagnosis and the necessary adjustments to rectify the voltage irregularities. Your insights were invaluable in guiding me toward a swift resolution.

Sounds frustrating. I have a Lexus NX too. I had similar weird transmission behavior a while back, and it turned out to be related to undervoltage. The car's computer was acting up and messing with the transmission control. It's like your brain misfiring and telling your leg to do something completely different than walk. Is your battery in good shape? Have you checked for any other electrical issues?
