Lexus NX Windshield Washer Heater Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Lexus NX owner is experiencing issues with the windshield washer heater, leading to frozen spray nozzles in cold temperatures despite using winter washer fluid. The problem is suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. After ruling out clogged nozzles and confirming the washer motor is functioning normally, it is suggested that the heater itself may be malfunctioning. The owner plans to have it checked at a workshop, where a diagnostic confirmed a defective heater, with a repair cost of 95€.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did try clearing the nozzles with a needle, no luck. The washer motor sounds normal, powerful even. I'm leaning towards the heater malfunction being the issue now. Was your problem specifically with the heater too?

Yeah, after checking the pump and lines, it turned out to be the washer heater itself in my case. Unless you're confident with electrical troubleshooting, I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop. Could save you time and potential headaches.

Appreciate the confirmation. I'll book it in. Diagnostic came back as you predicted - defective heater. Repair cost is quoted at 95€, so nothing too dramatic.

Sounds familiar. I've got a Lexus NX, although I can't recall the exact year. I had a similar issue last winter. Before you dig too deep, have you checked for clogged nozzles? Sometimes a bit of debris or solidified washer fluid can cause these symptoms. Also, is the washer motor making any noise?
