Lexus RC Anti Theft System Error

Thanks for the quick response. Battery seems fine, showing a healthy voltage. Regarding the power failures or recent work, nothing comes to mind. Could it be a faulty alarm sensor triggering this, even if there’s no obvious intrusion?

A faulty sensor is definitely a possibility, though less common. When the alarm control unit receives an unexpected signal, it can disable the system and log an error. Given the error codes, and that the car seems otherwise fine (battery, power), I'd recommend getting it scanned with a Lexus-specific diagnostic tool, to get a more specific error code. It might need a reset, or perhaps the coding needs adjustment. A workshop will be able to look into it in more detail!

Thanks for the insight! Took it to the workshop and you were right; it was indeed the alarm system coded to activate the optical locking which caused the issue. Recoding fixed it. Total cost was 45€ Appreciate your help!

That sounds frustrating! When the alarm system throws an error like that, especially with the indicators involved, a few things come to mind. Have you checked the battery recently? A weak battery can cause all sorts of electrical gremlins. Also, have you had any power failures, or work done on the car recently that might have messed with the alarm control unit?
