Lexus RC Battery Sensor Issue

The battery is about three years old, so it shouldn't be completely dead yet, I wouldn't think. Was the battery sensor the only thing you needed to replace on your BMW, or were there other issues that cropped up because of it?

Just the sensor in my case. Once I replaced it, everything went back to normal. It's probably worth getting it checked out properly at a workshop. A defective sensor can definitely cause those symptoms, and you don't want to risk damaging the battery or alternator.

Thanks for the info! I took it to the shop, and you were spot on. The battery sensor was indeed defective. New sensor cost me 315€ with labor. Starts like a champ now, and no more flickering lights.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series. Same symptoms: weak starts, flickering lights. Turned out the battery sensor was faulty. The car wasn't correctly monitoring the battery voltage, so it wasn't charging properly. How old is your battery, out of interest?
