Lexus RC Check Engine Light
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Lexus RC hybrid owner experienced a check engine light, reduced power, and poor engine response, with diagnostics indicating a crankshaft to camshaft reference value fault. The issue was suspected to be related to the crankshaft sensor. Another individual with a similar experience suggested checking both the crankshaft and cam sensors, as either could cause the problem. Ultimately, the workshop confirmed the crankshaft sensor was at fault, leading to its replacement.

Thanks. Were your cam sensor symptoms constant or intermittent? Did the diagnostic specifically point to the crankshaft sensor, or suggest a broader timing issue?

Mine were pretty constant once they started. The diagnostic pointed to a timing issue, but it turned out to be the crankshaft sensor. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to confirm, just to be sure.

Appreciate the advice. Workshop confirmed it was the crankshaft sensor. Repair cost was 340€. Thanks again for the help.

I had something similar happen with my RC. Check engine light, sluggish performance... Drove me nuts. Did you check the cam sensor too? Could be either the crankshaft or cam sensor messing things up.
