Lexus RC climate control panel not working
Summary of the thread
The climate control panel of a 2017 Lexus RC was not functioning, with errors indicating low heating output and a non-responsive AC. Possible causes included a blown fuse, a power surge from recent battery disconnection, or a faulty connection. The blower motor's lack of engagement suggested a power supply issue. The recommended solution was to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop, where a defective cable connection was identified and repaired.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked the fuses and they seem fine. The battery was disconnected recently for a minor repair. I am not sure about power surge. How do I tell if there was a power surge? Also, the blower motor does not engage.

Okay, if the blower motor isn't engaging at all, and the fuses are good, that points towards a power supply issue or a faulty connection, as you said. A power surge is hard to detect after the fact, but it can definitely mess with the electronics. Given that you disconnected the battery recently, it's possible something got zapped. Honestly, at this point, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the electrical system. I took mine to the shop and it turns out to be the cable or plug connection of the component defective.

I appreciate your assistance. I took the car to the workshop. As you suggested, it was a defective cable connection. The repair cost 95€. Thank you.

Hey there! I drive an RC too, and I had a similar problem with my climate control. Sounds like you've got some gremlins in the system. First, have you checked the fuses related to the HVAC system? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause all sorts of weird electrical issues. Also, any recent work done on the car that might have involved disconnecting the battery? A power surge during reconnection could potentially fry something. By the way, does the blower motor even engage at all?
