Lexus RC Engine Running Lean
Summary of the thread
The 2023 Lexus RC is experiencing issues with running lean, indicated by reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, and jerking during acceleration. The problem is suspected to be related to fuel delivery, possibly due to defective fuel injectors. After consulting with others and having the vehicle diagnosed at a workshop, it was confirmed that faulty fuel injectors were the cause, and replacing them resolved the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, I had the codes read, and it's pointing to a lean condition. I haven't specifically checked the MAF or throttle body myself yet. Did you find that your Saab also had a lean code, and if so, what ended up being the culprit for you?

Yup, lean code was the key symptom. I messed around trying to clean the MAF and throttle body, but honestly, it didn't really fix it. Ended up being faulty fuel injectors. Best bet is probably to get it to a good workshop; they have the proper tools to diagnose it correctly.

Appreciate the advice! Fuel injectors seem to be the consensus. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – faulty injectors! Repair cost me about 515€. Runs like new now!

Sounds familiar! Had similar symptoms on my old Saab 9-3. Reduced power and rough running, exactly as you describe. Could be fuel injectors, but have you checked the simple stuff first, like the mass air flow sensor or even the throttle body? Has anyone checked the error codes?
