Lexus RC Fog Sensor Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Lexus RC hybrid is experiencing a fog sensor malfunction, leading to issues with the AC, spray nozzles, and mirror heating. The problem may be due to a defective cable or plug connection. A similar issue was resolved by replacing a defective cable, suggesting that a visit to a workshop for cable inspection and replacement could be a viable solution.

No, I haven't checked the sensor itself yet. Where is it located and is it easy to access? And what exactly did you do to fix your issue?

On my RC, it's behind the rearview mirror, attached to the windshield. Access isn't too bad, but fiddly. I wasn't able to solve the issue myself, though. Took it to a workshop, they confirmed it was a defective cable and replaced it for around 100€. Given your symptoms, the cable might be your problem too. A visit to the garage might be worth it.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like our issues were very similar. I'll take it to the workshop and mention the defective cable possibility. My repair bill came to 95€. Hopefully that solves the problem!

Interesting. I have a Lexus RC too, though not the hybrid version. I had similar symptoms last year – AC issues and the mirror heating failing at random times. Never thought about the spray nozzles though. Did you check the sensor itself?
