Lexus RC fuel flap release malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Lexus RC owner experienced a malfunction with the fuel flap release, which was unresponsive both via the interior button and key fob, accompanied by a generic dashboard error. Initial checks ruled out fuse issues, suggesting a potential problem with the electric actuator or a broader electrical fault. After further investigation, the issue was confirmed to be a faulty electric actuator, which was replaced, resolving the problem.

The error is fairly generic, unfortunately. I did check the fuses, and they all seem fine. Is it possible the electric actuator itself is faulty, or could it be a bigger electrical problem affecting other systems?

Given that the fuses are okay and other functions are impacted, it does suggest a potential fault with the electric actuator or a related component in the electrical system. If I'm being honest, I suspect a workshop visit might be necessary for proper diagnosis.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out, it was indeed the electric actuator. Got it replaced for 210€, and everything's working fine now.

That sounds like a frustrating issue! Is the error message specific, or just a general warning? Have you checked the fuse related to the fuel door release? It's worth a look before diving deeper, similar to checking if the power cord is plugged in before blaming the TV.
