Lexus RC Speed Signal Malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Lexus RC is experiencing a speed signal malfunction, with the ABS light on, traction problems, and non-functional ABS. The issue could be due to a faulty control unit or wheel speed sensors. A similar case required replacing the control unit, costing around 1000€. It is advised to have a qualified workshop diagnose and confirm the problem.

Thanks. I haven't checked the wheel speed sensors individually. When you had this, did the ABS fail completely, and did you have to replace the control unit?

Yes, the ABS was completely disabled. The control unit was the problem. Replacing it, with labor, cost around 1000€. I'd suggest a qualified workshop to confirm, but it sounds like the same issue.

Thank you. I appreciate your help and will bring it to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and repair. The estimated repair cost seems right based on the probable defective control unit.

I had similar symptoms with my RC. Have you checked the wheel speed sensors? It might be a faulty sensor input causing the ECM to throw errors. The ABS, traction control, and speedometer all use those signals.
