A 2021 Lexus RC with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling at idle, reduced engine power, and a check engine light. The suspected cause is a faulty fuel pressure regulator, especially after a fuel filter change. The issue was confirmed to be the defective fuel pressure regulator, which was subsequently repaired.

Fuel rail pressure sensor readings were within normal range. Was the fuel pressure regulator the root cause in your Volvo?

Yes, the fuel pressure regulator was indeed the culprit. The readings might appear normal initially, but the regulator's inability to maintain consistent pressure can lead to intermittent issues. Considering the error entry after the fuel filter change, it's highly probable. I would suggest consulting with a workshop.

I had similar symptoms on my 2018 Volvo XC60. The check engine light, stalling, and power loss pointed towards a fuel system issue. Have you checked the fuel rail pressure sensor readings? A faulty fuel pressure regulator can definitely cause these problems, especially after a fuel filter replacement.
