Lexus RX Engine Control Unit Error

I'm having trouble with my 2008 Lexus RX hybrid. It has 54235 km on it. I've noticed a power reduction, and a scan shows an error in the engine control unit. I think the main relay might be bad. Has anyone else had this problem with their RX?

Whoa, that ECU error sounds like a headache! Before you dive too deep, have you checked the simple stuff, like battery voltage and the connections to the ECU itself? Sometimes a loose or corroded connector can throw everything off. Also, what's the exact error code you're seeing? Knowing that can really narrow things down.

I checked the battery voltage, and it seems fine. I also inspected the ECU connections and didn't see corrosion or looseness. The error code is P0606, which indicates an internal control module failure. Any other ideas?

Okay, P0606 points pretty strongly to an internal ECU issue. Since you've checked the obvious stuff, it seems like that computer module is the problem. I'd say take it to a shop with the right diagnostic tools. They can confirm the ECU failure and see if it's repairable or needs replacing. I wouldn't mess with it yourself unless you're super confident with vehicle electronics.

I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the main relay within the engine control unit was defective. They replaced it and cleared the error code. The total repair cost was 120€.
