Lexus RX hybrid engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Lexus RX hybrid was experiencing engine stalling at idle and a check engine light, suspected to be caused by a malfunctioning tank ventilation valve and possibly clogged hoses. The issue was identified as a problem with the purge valve or related components in the evaporative emission control system. It was advised to address the issue promptly to avoid potential damage to the catalytic converter. The problem was confirmed and resolved by replacing the faulty tank ventilation valve and clearing the clogged hoses, resulting in smooth engine operation.

Fuel consumption seems normal. Is it safe to drive it like this, or could it cause further damage?

Driving with a faulty purge valve is like trying to breathe through a pinched straw – the engine might not get the air it needs at the right time. It may eventually damage the catalytic converter or other components. Take it to a workshop as soon as possible.

Thanks for the advice. The garage confirmed a faulty tank ventilation valve due to clogged hoses. Repair cost 175€. Now it runs smoothly.

That sounds like a purge valve issue, or as you mentioned, potentially clogged hoses related to the evaporative emission control system. The ECU is probably detecting unusual pressure values from the pressure sensor. Is the fuel consumption normal, or have you seen an increase?
