Lexus RX rear ventilation flap error
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Lexus RX is experiencing an issue with the AC not blowing cold air, and diagnostics indicate an error related to the rear ventilation flap. The problem could be due to a defective cable or plug connection. While checking the fuses is suggested, the diagnostics confirmed that the issue was indeed a defective cable or plug connection, which was resolved at a workshop.

Yes, the error message mentions the rear ventilation flap actuator directly. I haven't checked the fuses yet, I admit. Where is the fuse box located in our model? And which fuse controls the ventilation flap?

In my experience, it was the flap actuator, and the error pointed directly to it. While checking the fuses is worthwhile, prepare yourself, it's likely the actuator itself. Given the diagnostic info, a trip to a reputable workshop might be your best bet to confirm.

Thanks for the insight. I appreciate you sharing your experience. I've taken it to a local workshop. The diagnostics confirmed that a defective cable or plug connection was the cause. Repair cost me 95€.

I had something similar happen in my RX. Is the error specifically pointing to the flap actuator? I'm wondering if you've checked the fuse box first before assuming the worst? It's a long shot, but easy to rule out.
