Lexus SC Automatic Transmission Problems

Emergency mode, yes! That's exactly what's happening sometimes. The fluid level seems okay at first glance, but could undervoltage really cause all these crazy issues with the transmission?

In my case, yes! The issues you're describing mirror my experience almost exactly. It turned out to be undervoltage causing havoc with the transmission's electronic controls. A transmission flush might not solve the underlying problem. I'd recommend getting it checked out by a workshop that knows these cars well.

You're a lifesaver! I was fearing the worst, but your experience gives me hope. I'll book it in for a proper diagnostic check. It really was undervoltage; they sorted it and replaced the oil. Cost me 240€. Thanks again!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I drive an SC too, and I went through something similar last year. Was the automatic transmission not shifting as usual, or even worse, going into emergency mode? Did you check the hydraulic fluid level in your automatic gearbox? This could save you time!
