Lexus SC Climate Control Issue

I'm having trouble with the automatic climate control in my 2008 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine. I'm getting an error and the AC isn't cooling. Diagnostics point to a rear ventilation flap fault, likely a bad cable or plug. Has anyone else seen this?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same thing happen in my SC. The AC just quit, and the dealer kept talking about some 'flap' thing. Did you check the fuses? It's the first (and cheapest!) thing I'd look at.

Thanks! I checked the fuses, and they're fine. The diagnostic tool says it's the rear ventilation flap actuator. Did your diagnostics pinpoint the same component? I'm wondering if this is a common problem.

Yep, 'flap actuator' is exactly the term they used! I tried looking myself but ended up taking it to the workshop. Cost me, but at least I'm not sweating now. If your diagnostics are already pointing to the actuator, I'd say just get it fixed. Seems like you've already done more troubleshooting than I ever could!

Thanks for confirming and sharing. It's good to know it's not just me. I'll go ahead with the repair at the workshop, knowing it's not unique to my car. Your help has been great.
