Lexus SC engine running too rich

I'm having a really frustrating issue with my 2008 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine. It feels like the engine is running way too rich – like it's getting too much fuel. I've noticed a definite reduction in engine power, and the check engine light keeps popping on. The engine also runs really rough, and my fuel consumption has gone through the roof! To top it off, the car jerks noticeably when I try to accelerate. Could this be a faulty catalytic converter? I did a quick check on the air filter and it looks ok. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old BMW after ignoring it for a while. Have you considered that the fuel injectors might be defective?

Defective fuel injectors, huh? I hadn't really considered that. Is that something that would cause all these issues at once? How did you figure it out on your BMW?

Yeah, a bad injector can definitely cause those problems, especially the rich mixture and rough running. Eventually the car stalled. Get it to a workshop to check the injectors.

Thanks! You were right about the fuel injectors. Took it to a shop, and they confirmed at least one injector was bad. Ended up replacing all of them. Cost me 515€, but the car runs like new. Appreciate the help!
