Lexus SC fuel injection issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Lexus SC owner reported issues of higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, stalling when idling, and smoke during acceleration, suspecting a fuel injection problem. Another owner suggested checking for defective cable or plug connections, as they experienced similar symptoms. The issue was confirmed to be a faulty cable connection in the injection system, which was resolved by a mechanic, leading to improved vehicle performance.

Interesting. Was it difficult to diagnose? What finally revealed the faulty connection?

Diagnosing it was not straightforward, and I could not spot the problem by myself. I suggest you take your car to a workshop; in my case, the mechanics determined the cable connection of the component was faulty, and the problem disappeared after it was fixed.

Thanks a lot! Took your advice and went to a local mechanic. Turns out, it was indeed a defective cable connection in the injection system, just like you said. Repair was only 95€, so I'm quite happy. Appreciate the help!

I also own a Lexus SC; have you considered a possible issue with a defective cable or plug connection? I had similar symptoms of reduced engine power, poor performance, and rough idling.
