Lexus SC fuel injection issue

I'm having a strange issue with my 2003 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine. It's got around 69k km on it. I've noticed higher fuel consumption, a noticeable drop in engine power, and it sometimes stalls when idling. Plus, there's a bit of smoke coming out when I accelerate. Could this be a fuel injection problem? I've checked for obvious things like loose hoses, but nothing stands out.

I also own a Lexus SC; have you considered a possible issue with a defective cable or plug connection? I had similar symptoms of reduced engine power, poor performance, and rough idling.

Interesting. Was it difficult to diagnose? What finally revealed the faulty connection?

Diagnosing it was not straightforward, and I could not spot the problem by myself. I suggest you take your car to a workshop; in my case, the mechanics determined the cable connection of the component was faulty, and the problem disappeared after it was fixed.

Thanks a lot! Took your advice and went to a local mechanic. Turns out, it was indeed a defective cable connection in the injection system, just like you said. Repair was only 95€, so I'm quite happy. Appreciate the help!
