Lexus SC Terminal 30 Error

I'm having a weird issue with my 2001 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine. I keep getting a message about 'Terminal 30 continuous plus interrupted' and the car starts really poorly. I've checked the battery voltage, and it seems fine at rest, but I suspect a voltage drop somewhere. I'm not sure where to start looking for the electrical fault. Could it be the ignition switch or a circuit breaker? Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my SC. I never saw that exact message, but it was acting like it wasn't getting enough power on startup. Have you had the battery tested under load? That's where I'd start.

Thanks! I haven't had it load tested, just checked the static voltage. Where did you end up finding the problem, and was it throwing any other codes or causing any other weirdness?

Mine ended up being a heavily discharged, defective battery. I tried cleaning the terminals and checking for parasitic draw, but no luck. A proper load test showed the battery was toast. Honestly, based on your symptoms and the 'Terminal 30' error, I'd bet that's it. It's worth getting it checked professionally. Ended up costing around 290€ at the workshop.

Thanks a lot! I'll get the battery load tested. I really appreciate the help. It was a dead battery after all! New battery fixed the problem.
