Lexus SC Transmission Issue

Hi, I have a 2001 Lexus SC with a gasoline engine. The transmission indicator and check engine lights are on. The automatic transmission is in emergency mode, and it's not shifting correctly - slips and makes grinding noises. There's an error stored in the memory, and I suspect a radiator oil pressure issue. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my SC. The coolant seemed to be leaking, and the shifting was awful. Did you check the cable or plug connections to the radiator pressure sensor? That was the problem in my case.

Where exactly is that sensor located? And how do I check the cable/plug?

It's near the radiator fan, close to where the coolant hoses connect. Honestly, it's a bit tricky to get to without lifting the car. If you're not comfortable with car electrics, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop.

Thanks for the advice! The workshop confirmed it was a defective cable connection, just like you said. Repair cost 95€. Appreciate the help.
