Lexus UX Check Engine Light and Manifold Pressure
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Lexus UX hybrid owner is experiencing a check engine light, reduced engine power, sluggish response, and increased fuel consumption, suspecting a faulty manifold pressure sensor. A similar case was resolved by replacing a faulty pressure sensor after ruling out a vacuum leak through a visual inspection and diagnostic tools. The suggested solution is to have a mechanic perform a proper diagnosis and potentially replace the sensor, with an estimated repair cost of around 240€.

Thanks for your reply. The car isn't idling very rough, but it's definitely not as smooth as it used to be. How did you confirm it was the pressure sensor? Did you use an OBD reader to check the sensor values?

Initially, I suspected a vacuum leak, but after a visual inspection yielded nothing, I took it to a workshop. They used diagnostic tools to confirm the pressure sensor was providing incorrect readings. Replacing it resolved all the issues. It cost me around 240€ for the sensor and labor.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I'll take it to a trusted mechanic for a proper diagnosis and sensor replacement. Your insight is greatly appreciated. At least I can expect around 240€ for the repair.

Hi there. I've had a similar experience with my UX. The symptoms you describe mirror what I encountered. Have you checked for any obvious cracks or disconnections in the vacuum lines? My issue turned out to be a faulty pressure sensor indeed. Was your car idling rough?
