Lexus UX Lighting Fault

Hey, I'm having a weird electrical issue with my 2022 Lexus UX electric. It's got about 57000 km on it. I'm getting a fault in the lighting – the lights sometimes switch on randomly, and I've got an error stored. I've checked the headlight switch itself, and it seems okay. I've also looked at the tail lights to see if there was any corrosion on the bulb connectors. I've even given the fuse box a once-over to check if there's any obvious damage, but nothing stands out. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause something like this?

Could be a short somewhere. Have you checked the wiring harness for any signs of damage or loose connections?

Thanks for the quick reply. I visually inspected the accessible parts of the harness, but didn't do any in-depth testing. Is there a specific area or connector that's known to cause problems in the UX's lighting system, or is it a general process of elimination?

Without diagnostic tools, it's tough to pinpoint the exact location. Given the error memory and random activation, a loose connection or chafed wire is likely. To avoid further issues, I would strongly recommend having a workshop look at it.

Okay, thanks for confirming my suspicions. I took it to the workshop today, and you were spot on – it was a faulty plug connection. Repair cost came to 95€. Appreciate the advice!
