Lexus UX Lighting Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Lexus UX electric vehicle experienced a lighting fault where the lights would randomly switch on, and an error was stored. Initial checks of the headlight switch, tail lights, and fuse box showed no obvious issues. The problem was suspected to be due to a defective cable or plug connection. After further inspection at a workshop, it was confirmed to be a faulty plug connection, which was repaired.

Thanks for the quick reply. I visually inspected the accessible parts of the harness, but didn't do any in-depth testing. Is there a specific area or connector that's known to cause problems in the UX's lighting system, or is it a general process of elimination?

Without diagnostic tools, it's tough to pinpoint the exact location. Given the error memory and random activation, a loose connection or chafed wire is likely. To avoid further issues, I would strongly recommend having a workshop look at it.

Okay, thanks for confirming my suspicions. I took it to the workshop today, and you were spot on – it was a faulty plug connection. Repair cost came to 95€. Appreciate the advice!

Could be a short somewhere. Have you checked the wiring harness for any signs of damage or loose connections?
