I had a quick look, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Is there a common spot for these connectors to fail in the Lexus UX?

While it's hard to say for certain without a proper diagnostic, the most probable root cause is defective cable or plug connection on the component. Given the symptoms and the troubleshooting you've done, you're likely looking at a sensor issue or its wiring. As a next step, I advise you to take it to a workshop. The overall repair costs should stay below 100€, like 95€.

Thanks a lot for the help! I took your advice and brought it in. Turns out it was indeed a faulty connection to the oil level sensor – easy fix. Saved me a bunch of headache trying to diagnose it myself!

Sounds like the oil level sensor is acting up. Have you checked the basics, like the wiring and connector to the sensor? A loose or corroded connection can cause all sorts of weird issues. It's like when your TV remote batteries are dying – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Where is the oil level?
