Lexus UX Oil Temperature Warning

I'm kinda freaking out. I have a 2022 Lexus UX with a gasoline engine, and the speedometer is showing a warning light. I ran a car diagnostics, and it showed an error stored in the error memory related to engine oil temperature. Now, the oil pressure warning lamp is also lighting up sometimes! What is going on? I checked the oil level, and it seems fine. Could it be a faulty temperature sensor?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Lexus UX owner experienced a warning light related to engine oil temperature and oil pressure. The issue was likely caused by a faulty engine oil temperature sensor or a defective connection. A similar case suggested that replacing the sensor and checking the connections resolved the problem. After visiting a workshop, the sensor and connection were replaced, resolving the warning light issue.

I had a similar issue with my UX. When the oil pressure warning lamp lights up, it's often linked to the engine oil temperature sensor. The sensor monitors the oil's temperature, which is crucial for the engine's lubrication and overall health. A faulty sensor can trigger these warnings. Did the error code specify anything about the sensor's readings being abnormal?

Thanks for the quick response! I don't remember the exact error code. I'm not really a car guy, so a lot of that stuff goes over my head. But if it was the temperature sensor in your case, what did you do to fix it?

I recommend visiting a trusted workshop. In my case, the issue was with the cable or plug connection of the component. They replaced the faulty sensor, and the warning lights disappeared. The engine oil temperature sensor ensures the engine doesn't overheat. Continuing to drive with this issue might damage other engine components.

Thanks! That's really helpful. I took it to the workshop, and you were right. It was the temperature sensor and a defective connection. They replaced the sensor, and the total cost was 95€. Everything seems to be running smoothly now!
