Nope, nothing's been touched recently. That's what's so strange. Just started happening out of the blue. Could it be anything else, or am I stuck with replacing the steering sensor?

Given the sudden onset and the symptoms described, it does appear the steering angle sensor is the most likely culprit. I recommend taking it to a qualified workshop for diagnosis and coding.

Appreciate the insight. Turns out you were spot on - steering angle sensor was faulty. Workshop re-coded it and all is well. Cost me 195€.

I also own a Lexus UX, and your symptoms do sound like a defective steering angle sensor. Was the steering column recently worked on, or any other automotive sensors replaced?
