LFA ABS Fault

I've got a weird issue with my 2012 Lexus LFA, gasoline engine. The ABS lamp is on, and the ABS isn't working. Diagnostics say it's a lateral acceleration sensor fault, which probably means a bad control unit. Mileage is 185793 km. I've checked wheel alignment and yaw rate sensor readings, and they look okay. Anyone seen this before?

Something similar happened on my LFA recently. ABS light, system failure, the whole deal. Did the error memory say anything more than just the lateral acceleration sensor? Could be traction control.

Yeah, the error points right at the lateral acceleration sensor module. Did your problem also point to the control unit, or was something else causing the bad reading?

Mine kept saying it was a bad lateral acceleration sensor. After wasting some time, I took it to the shop. It turned out to be exactly what the fault code said – the control unit. Replacing it fixed everything.

Thanks for confirming. I suspected that, given the diagnostics. Looks like a new control unit is needed. Estimate is around 1000€, which isn't too bad. Thanks for sharing your experience; it makes me feel better knowing I'm on the right path.
