LFA key battery low warning

I'm experiencing an odd issue with my 2010 Lexus LFA, gasoline engine, at 162412 km. I'm getting a 'key battery low' warning. Keyless access is failing, an error is stored regarding this in the error memory, and unlocking/locking is erratic. Seems like dead key, right?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Lexus LFA owner is experiencing a 'key battery low' warning, leading to erratic keyless access and stored error messages. The issue is likely due to a depleted key battery. The suggested solution is to replace the key battery, which resolved the problem after the owner sourced a new battery and had it replaced at a shop.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my old Volvo V70. Is it actually preventing you from using the key, or is it just annoying?

Good point, and thanks for sharing that. Right now, it's just a growing annoyance. But I'm wondering if it might fully give up at an unfortunate moment. Did your Volvo key completely fail?

Yeah, it did! The range got worse and worse until one day it just flat out refused to work. I'd bring it to a workshop. Changing batteries on modern keys can be tricky. They could also double-check whether the electronics are okay.

Thanks, that’s helpful to know. I'll get the battery changed. I sourced one online for 4€ and paid another 33€ to a shop to get the battery replaced. All good now.
