Howdy, I'm seconding what our here just said. I had a very similar issue with my 2011 LFA. Thought my beauty was just having an off day but turned out it had more to do with a damaged intake hose. Once that got replaced, she's been running beautifully again. Hey, by any chance, do you remember roughly how much dough you had to drop on that fix? Also, did any other problems pop up afterwards or has your ride been running without a hitch?

Hey there, Good to see another Lexus owner here. Since I got the intake hose in my LFA sorted out by the mechanic, it's been smooth sailing ever since. No jerking, no shaking, no hissing, and she's back to her old peppy self. I could almost forget she's not a brand new car. As for the cost, if memory serves right, I was set back by about 100€. That included the replacement of the leaky intake hose and labor. It might vary a bit depending on where you get your car fixed but that should give you a ballpark figure. All in all, totally worth it to get my old girl back in shape. Hope that helps! Stay safe on the road.

Heys, Thanks for sharing your experiences and giving me a heads up. It does sound like the intake hose might be the culprit. Seems like my hunch wasn't so far off after all. And good to hear that your rides are back in top shape. It gives me a little hope for my old girl. The estimated cost doesn't sound too bad, really. Given how much I had to cough up last time for a fix that didn't do much, this would be money well spent if it gets her running fine again. I guess it's off to the mechanics for us then, and here's hoping for the best! Thanks again for your advice. The roads are a little less lonely when you know there's helpful like you out there. Stay safe, and happy motoring!

Hey! Sounds like a pretty familiar issue. I drive a 2011 Lexus LFA and ran into pretty much the same problem like yours not too long ago. Check engine light came on, and she was shaking like she was nervous when idle, got a bit unresponsive during acceleration, you get the picture. Turned out it was indeed the intake hose leaking. It’s an important part of the engine, the fella at the garage explained to me it could cause a variety of performance issues. That hissing sound you're hearing is probably air escaping from the system. That can cause the engine to run lean, and eventually lead to more serious problems. If you're experiencing a lack of power, rough idle, or poor gas mileage, it's quite possible it's the same problem. The mechanic had to replace the intake hose. Also replaced a couple of clamps and reinforced the connections for good measure. Fixed it all up and she's been running smooth ever since. I'd suggest getting your car checked out asap. If it’s the same issue, you definitely don't want it to get worse. Good luck.
