LFA rear window heating issue
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Lexus LFA owner experienced an issue with the rear window heating not working and a stored error code, with the windshield heating also appearing weaker. A suggestion was made to check the battery, as a heavily discharged or defective battery can cause electrical issues. After checking and replacing the battery, the rear window heater functioned correctly, resolving the problem.

Oh, that's a good point! I haven't checked the battery specifically. Was yours throwing any codes related to the rear window heating, or was it just generally not working and the battery was the culprit?

No specific rear window heating codes that I recall, just general electrical system weirdness. Once I replaced the battery, the rear defroster worked normally again. Honestly, given the symptoms, and that error stored in the memory, you should have it checked, maybe at a shop.

Thanks! I got the battery checked. Turns out, the battery was the culprit. I replaced it and the window heater works. It cost me 290€ incl. the battery. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Interesting... I had a similar issue with my LFA – though it only presented during the colder months. Have you had the battery checked recently? A heavily discharged or defective battery can cause weird electrical gremlins.
