LFA Tailgate Hall Sensor Fault

I have a 2012 Lexus LFA with a gasoline engine and I'm encountering a persistent error related to the tailgate hall sensor. The error memory indicates a fault, and the tailgate fails to open completely. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I have experienced something comparable with my LFA. It is crucial to check the wiring harness near the hinge point. The motion of the tailgate can fatigue the wires, resulting in intermittent connection issues. Do you notice any difference in functionality when the car is warm versus cold?

That is a very insightful suggestion regarding the wiring harness. I will certainly inspect that area meticulously. I have not explicitly observed a correlation between temperature and functionality, but I will monitor this aspect more closely. Could you provide further details on how you resolved your similar issue?

Given that you've already considered the potential causes and the symptoms align, it seems prudent to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified technician. In my case, the repair was to replace a faulty sensor, once they located the damaged wire with an oscilloscope. They were also able to perform sensor calibration afterwards, all done in one place.

I appreciate your invaluable guidance and the sharing of your experience. Based on your advice, I will schedule an appointment with my trusted workshop. The estimated repair cost is approximately 95€ to address the connections. Thank you again for taking the time to assist me with this matter.
