LFA Transmission Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Lexus LFA owner experienced transmission issues, including warning lights, rough shifting, and grinding noises. Diagnostics indicated a potential fault with the transmission oil pressure sensor. A suggestion was made to check the gearbox oil level, as low oil could trigger sensor faults and cause shifting problems. After topping up the oil and replacing the sensor, the issues were resolved.

Thanks. Could you describe the symptoms you experienced and whether they match mine? Also, do you remember the specific error codes that were stored?

Yes, the symptoms were pretty much identical: warning lights, rough shifts, and limp mode occasionally. I don't recall the exact error codes now, but the workshop told me it was related to the transmission oil pressure. I'd suggest checking the oil level and then taking it to a trusted workshop for a proper diagnosis.

I appreciate your advice. I checked the gearbox oil level, and it was significantly low. After topping it up and replacing the sensor - costing 365€ - the issue is resolved. Thank you!

I had similar issues on my LFA a while back. Check your gearbox oil level first; a low oil level can trigger the pressure sensor fault and cause weird shifting. It seems simple but is often overlooked.
