LFA Transmission Issues

My 2012 Lexus LFA with its gasoline engine is giving me fits. The check engine light and transmission indicator are blazing, and the gearbox feels like it's rowing through mud. I'm getting grinding noises during shifts, and the error memory is full. My gut tells me it's the torque converter lock-up clutch acting up. Anyone else experienced this?

I had something similar happen with my LFA. Unclean shifts, error codes popping up. I think it might be a converter fault. Does it feel like the engine is surging at all?

Surging, huh? Now that you mention it, there is a slight surge, especially at lower speeds. What did you end up doing? Was it definitely the lock-up clutch? Any more details you can share?

Yep, sounds like the same issue I had. I ended up taking it to a reputable workshop, and they confirmed it was the automatic transmission converter. Not a cheap fix, unfortunately, but necessary. Get it checked out ASAP.

Thanks! Appreciate the confirmation. Looks like I'm heading to the shop. They've diagnosed the issue as a defective automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch and quoted me 2120€ for the repair. Ouch! But at least she'll be singing again soon.
