LFA Transmission Issues
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Lexus LFA is experiencing transmission issues, with the check engine light and transmission indicator illuminated, accompanied by grinding noises during shifts. The problem is suspected to be related to the torque converter lock-up clutch. A similar issue was resolved by confirming a fault in the automatic transmission converter, which required professional repair.

Surging, huh? Now that you mention it, there is a slight surge, especially at lower speeds. What did you end up doing? Was it definitely the lock-up clutch? Any more details you can share?

Yep, sounds like the same issue I had. I ended up taking it to a reputable workshop, and they confirmed it was the automatic transmission converter. Not a cheap fix, unfortunately, but necessary. Get it checked out ASAP.

Thanks! Appreciate the confirmation. Looks like I'm heading to the shop. They've diagnosed the issue as a defective automatic transmission torque converter lock-up clutch and quoted me 2120€ for the repair. Ouch! But at least she'll be singing again soon.

I had something similar happen with my LFA. Unclean shifts, error codes popping up. I think it might be a converter fault. Does it feel like the engine is surging at all?
