Life ABS speed signal fault
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Honda Life is experiencing a speed signal fault, causing the ABS lamp to light up and traction problems, with diagnostics indicating a defective control unit. Despite the speedometer functioning correctly, the issue persists, suggesting the control unit as a potential root cause. The recommended solution is to take the vehicle to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair.

Speedometer seems fine, actually. Just the ABS and traction control freaking out. You think it might still be the sensor, even with the speedometer working?

Well, the speedometer working smoothly is interesting. When mine went bad, the whole thing was haywire. BUT the diagnostic pointed to a control unit, just like yours! Could be the same root cause. Honestly, I'd bite the bullet and get it to a workshop. It was beyond my skills, sadly. Cost me around 1000€, I think. Ouch!

Sounds like the workshop is my best bet. Thanks for confirming the control unit thing, gives me something to go on.

Oh, that sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Life, and it was a nightmare. Was your speedometer acting crazy too? I'm not a mechanic but did you check the sensor input from the transmission?
